§ Mrs. ThatcherThe figures below, from my Department's "Statistics of Education" show by region the capital expenditure of local education authorities in each of the years 1966–67 to 1969–70 (the latest year for which figures are available). The expenditure relates in part to projects in approved programmes started in earlier years. It includes minor works covered by block allocations as well as major projects approved individually, and expenditure financed out of revenue as well as that subject to loan sanction. Regional figures were not compiled for years before 1966–67.
