HC Deb 18 January 1972 vol 829 c152W
Q16. Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Prime Minister whether he will investigate the extent to which Ministers use the facilities of their Departments, and Exchequer moneys, to assist private public relations and other firms to carry out meetings and conferences for the financial gain of these companies as exemplified by the case of the Department of Trade and Industry and Infoforum & Brintex Conferences Limited, details of which are in his possession; and if he will arrange for this practice to cease.

The Prime Minister

I am not aware of any need for such an investigation. Nor can I accept the implication that my right hon. Friend has in any way departed from the established standards of Ministerial conduct in respect of official messages to conferences and exhibitions.
