§ 66. Mr. Grimondasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will introduce legislation to allow the nationalised industries to reduce the supply of services, such as electricity, up to a prescribed limit where this is necessary for the public good without the introduction of a state of emergency.
§ Sir J. EdenIt would not be right to relieve nationalised industries of their statutory obligations unless a clear need to do so has been recognised by the Government, as is the case when Emergency Regulations are introduced.
