§ Mr. Roger Whiteasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what conclusion the Government has reached on the future administration of magistrates' courts.
§ Mr. MaudlingAfter careful study of the views of the organisations which were consulted, the Government have decided that there should be no fundamental change in the present form of administration. Improvements in the administration of the magistrates' courts will be made by provisions in the Local Government Bill and the Criminal Justice Bill both of which are now before the House.
