§ Mr. Tebbitasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether it is his intention that London borough councils should be required to produce and settle their local plans in advance of his decision on the Greater London Development Plan; and whether he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Graham PageThe London borough councils will in general have discretion whether or not to prepare local plans. I intend to move an amendment to the Town and Country Planning (Amendment) Bill which would enable them to start the preparation of their local plans before the Greater London Development Plan has been approved.
