§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will give, for the longest and most convenient stated period of time, the number of letters with dates of receipt which he has received from Mr. G. E. Hobson, of Hale, Cheshire, and Members of Parliament, regarding allegations of irregularities against the Lancashire Police and the Chief Constable; and what action he has taken, or proposes to take, in connection with them.
§ Mr. SharplesMr. Hobson first wrote to the Home Office on 5th June, 1969. He has written on more than 20 occasions since. Nine hon. Members have written to Home Office Ministers about the case. It has been exhaustively investigated on behalf of the Lancashire Police Authority and there is no action for my right hon. Friend to take.
