§ Mr. William Priceasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what study his Department has made of the Council of Europe's draft convention on the welfare of intensive livestock; and whether the United Kingdom has been invited to join any committee of experts set up to consider the draft.
§ Mr. Anthony StodartA preliminary study of the draft Convention has been made by my Department. It will be studied in depth when the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe appoints a Committee of Experts to consider the draft. We would expect to be invited to nominate United Kingdom representatives to serve on the Expert Committee.
