§ Mr. KershawSince Her Majesty's Government assumed responsibility, under the Anguilla Act, 1971, for the administration of Anguilla the island has remained peaceful. A local police force has been raised and trained and the judicial system has been revived.
In addition, close and urgent attention has been paid to the development needs of the island's economy and infrastructure. In all these matters progress has been made with the full consent and co-operation of the Anguilla Council.
