§ Mr. Onslowasked the Secretary of State for the Environment when he expects to be able to inform the House of the total cost to public funds of the projected Foulness Airport and its associated road and rail communications and auxiliary developments; and what public money will at that stage have already been spent on, or irrevocably committed to, the scheme.
§ Mr. Peter WalkerI cannot yet say when I shall be able to give a global estimate of the kind my hon. Friend seeks, but I will as promised keen the House informed of developments. It332W must be remembered however that expenditure on road links, rail links and the reclamation of land will have benefits and implications far wider than the creation of a third London airport.
