§ 69. Mr. Joel Barnettasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what action he is now proposing to take to prevent private computer training companies advertising in such a way as to suggest they can provide jobs that are not available, following the investigation by the Manchester Weights and Measures Department of the evidence submitted to him by the hon. Member for Heywood and Royton, details of which have been sent to him.
§ Mr. RidleyStatements about such matters which do not amount to offences against the Trade Descriptions Act, 1968, may nevertheless be contrary to the British Advertising Code of Practice, and if the hon. Member wishes I will draw the details he has sent me to the attention of the Advertising Standards Authority.
