HC Deb 04 February 1972 vol 830 c208W
Mr. George Cunningham

asked the Minister of State for Defence what is the present policy of the Government on identifying individual members of the armed forces in Northern Ireland for the purpose of legal proceedings intended against them in connection with acts done in the course of their duties.

Lord Balniel

Civil legal proceedings arising from alleged actions by the armed forces can be initiated against the Ministry of Defence, and there is, therefore, no need for individuals to be identified for this purpose.
