§ Mr. Merlyn Reesasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will make a statement concerning the effects of Pakistan's withdrawal from the Commonwealth on the electoral registration rights of citizens of Pakistan resident in this country.
§ Mr. MaudlingI would refer the hon. Member to the reply given to a Question from my hon. Friend the Member for Bradford, West (Mr. Wilkinson) on 3rd February. The rights of citizens of Pakistan to register as electors will not be affected until the British Nationality Act, 1948, is amended.—[Vol. 830, c.186.]
