§ Mr. Milneasked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will make a further examination of the difficulties being experienced by people unemployed and aged 45 years or over in regard to securing jobs, in the light of the present unemployment rate, with a view to introducing legislation to overcome them.
§ Mr. Dudley SmithMy right hon. Friend is fully aware of these difficulties, but considers that the measures which the Government have taken to create more job opportunities for everyone will be more effective than legislation in helping older people.
