93. Mr. Pavitt

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department when he expects to operate Section 17 of the Misuse of Drugs Act, 1971.

This provision will form part of the main framework of control. As I said in reply to a Question by the hon. Member for Cardigan (Mr. Elystan Morgan) on 18th November, 1971, commencement of the main provisions of the Act depends upon the preparation of regulations.
