§ 27. Mr. Robert Hughesasked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many approved pelican or similarly controlled pedestrian crossings have been delayed in installation due to the deliveries of the equipment being more than three months from the placing of the order, in the last three years.
§ Mr. YoungerSince July, 1969, 54 "Pelican" crossings have been authorised. The delivery period for equipment has generally been of the order of 22 weeks, but discussions have recently taken place with the manufacturers with the object of shortening this period.
