asked Her Majesty's Government:

  1. (i) What restoration or repair work is at present being done to Westminster Abbey or is planned for the next five years;
  2. (ii) What is the estimated cost of this work;
  3. (iii) What proportion of the cost will be borne by the Government.

LORD MOWBRAY AND STOURTON

This is a matter for the Dean and Chapter. As the Abbey is an ecclesiastical building in use for public worship they are not, under present circumstances, in receipt of a Government grant for its repair.
