asked Her Majesty's Government: In each of the years 1969, 1970, 1971 and 1972, how many persons have been sentenced to (a) immediate, (b) suspended, imprisonment for offences concerned with the drug cannabis.

I regret that particulars of the numbers of persons sentenced to imprisonment for such offences are not readily available. The numbers of such offences which resulted in imprisonment in Great Britain in the years 1969 to 1971 were:
