asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will now make a statement on his latest talks with European Economic Community Governments on British participation in the post-Apollo programme.

Discussions are still continuing with our partners in the European Space Conference. A formal meeting of the Conference is planned for 20th December 1972.

59. Mr. Bishop

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what action he is now taking with regard to post-Apollo collaboration with the United States of America and with Europe.

Mr. Onslow

Possible European co-operation with the United States in the post-Apollo programme is primarily a matter for the European Space Conference as the Americans have expressed a preference for a collective European response. Discussions are still continuing with our European partners and a formal meeting of the Conference is planned for 20th December 1972. My hon. Friend the Minister for Aerospace and Shipping will be leading the United Kingdom delegation.
