asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many Commonwealth trainees have been admitted to the United Kingdom under the scheme detailed in his Department's circular EDL 127, in each of the years since its introduction.

The numbers of Commonwealth trainees admitted each year under the scheme operated by my Department are:

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what changes have been or will be made in the scheme set out in circular EDL 127 for admitting Commonwealth citizens to the United Kingdom for limited periods of training under the new immigration regulations.

Mr. Dudley Smith

No changes have been made in the scheme since it was introduced and none is proposed under the new immigration regulations.
