Since 1968 projects totalling some £21 million have been approved for grant in England and Wales. In the latest phase of the programme, local authorities in England put forward capital and non- 234W capital projects estimated to cost £31.5 million and £2.9 million respectively. Approvals total £3.7 million for capital and £1.6 million for other expenditure.
