Mr. William Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland (1) how many new council houses have been completed in Perth in each of the last eight years; and what is the current average rent;

(2) how many private tenants in Perth will qualify for rent allowances on 1st January 1973 as a result of recent legislation; and what is this figure as a proportion of the total number of such tenants;

(3) what has been the average increase in council house rents in Perth as a result of the provisions of the Housing (Financial Provisions) (Scotland) Act of 1972;

(4) how many council tenants in Perth are now paying no rent as a result of recent legislation;

(5) how many council tenants in Perth are currently paying rents of over £2 a week and between £2 and £5 a week.
