§ Mr. Adam Hunterasked the Secretary of State for Employment what steps he is taking to provide jobs for the employees made redundant by the closure of the factory of Peebles and Company Limited, Dunfermline, Fife.
§ Mr. Dudley SmithEvery effort will be made by my Department's local officers to obtain alternative jobs for the work-people involved. A "job team" has already visited the factory to interview and advise all those becoming redundant about other employment and training opportunities and employers in the area are being specially canvassed for suitable vacancies.
