§ 45. Dr. Summerskillasked the Secretary of State for Employment why the basic allowance for a man on the Government vocational training scheme is £11.75 and for a woman is only £10.75.
§ Mr. Chichester-ClarkTraining allowances were increased on 9th October, 1972. The allowances for men aged 20 and over were raised by 75p a week and those for women aged 20 and over by £1.25 a week as a further step towards equality of allowances for men and women. The rates paid to younger men and women are already equal.
