§ Mr. Lomasasked the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications if he will issue a general direction to the Post Office to issue a refund of television licence when a user changes from a colour to a black and white receiver.
§ Sir J. EdenA general direction would not be appropriate. Refunds may already be given by the Post Office whenever a licence holder's need for any television licence ceases within 28 days. There are no plans to widen the scope for allowing refunds.
