§ Mr. Clinton Davisasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what research and development help is given by the Government to the machine tool industry in the United Kingdom.
§ Mr. Anthony GrantAssistance is provided through R and D contracts, preproduction orders, and through the National Research Development Corporation. Other forms of assistance include the research carried out by the National Engineering Laboratory, universities and industrial research associations, the results of which are made available to industry.
