§ Mr. Thorpeasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what assessment has been made of the zebra zig-zag crossings; and what steps are being taken to publicise the purpose of these markings on roads.
§ Mr. SpeedStudies of driving and pedestrian behaviour have been started. The effect on accidents cannot be fully assessed until after November, 1973, when all the crossings will have been marked. Publicity is provided through the Press, television, posters and leaflets.
