HC Deb 04 December 1972 vol 847 c295W
77. Mr. Kinsey

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will make a statement on the two deaths that occurred at Great Barr, Birmingham, on Tuesday, after the premises had been converted to natural gas, and on whether he is satisfied with the general safety of such conversion.

Mr. Emery

I understand that investigations into this tragic incident are still proceeding. I have so far had no reason to doubt the general adequacy of the safety aspects of natural gas conversion procedures. I will write to my hon. Friend when I know of the outcome of the investigations.
