HC Deb 04 December 1972 vol 847 c284W
33. Mr. Loveridge

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he is satisfied with the means available to the crews of British civil aircraft to defend themselves and their aircraft from the actions of pirates; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Onslow

I believe the best defence is to prevent the potential hijacker from boarding the aircraft and the security measures being taken by our airlines and at our airports have this as their aim.
