HC Deb 04 December 1972 vol 847 c308W
84. Mr. Roy Hughes

asked the Minister for the Civil Service how many jobs have been created in Wales as a result of the dispersal of Government offices in 1971 and 1972, respectively, and how these totals compare with the years 1968. 1969 and 1970.

Mr. Kenneth Baker

Information is not available in precisely this form, but under the policies of dispersal and the setting up of new offices away from London wherever possible, 1,250 jobs have been created in Wales between 1st October, 1971 and 1st October, 1972. This compares with 415 jobs created between 1st October, 1969 and 1st October, 1970 and 515 jobs between 1st October, 1970 and 1st October, 1971.
