HC Deb 04 December 1972 vol 847 cc293-4W
63. Mr. Moate

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will publish a full list of new tariffs to be erected in 1973 on trade between the United Kingdom and Commonwealth countries previously enjoying preferential arrangements of nil tariffs.

Sir G. Howe

The United Kingdom has no obligation to impose any new tariffs on imports from the Commonwealth in 1973, except possibly in the case of beef and veal, nor has any Commonwealth country notified us of an intention to do so then on imports from the United Kingdom.
