HC Deb 04 December 1972 vol 847 cc325-6W
Mr. Biffen

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what has been the expenditure to date in preparing the Cheshire Joint Sanatorium at Logger-

a slightly different period. Certain adjustments should therefore be made to the list then given.

These are the following:

heads for the reception of refugees from Uganda; how many have so far passed through this reception centre; what plans have been considered for its future use; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Lane

Contingency plans for using this sanatorium as a resettlement centre for refugees from Uganda included preliminary work on its preparation, but in the event the centre was not needed. A final estimate of the expenditure incurred is not yet available. The property is vested in my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Social Services, and is being returned to his Department.
