HC Deb 09 August 1972 vol 842 c448W
Mr. John

asked the Secretary of State for Wales (1) what estimate his Department has made of the additional employment likely to be created in market towns in Wales by reason of the announced greater prosperity of Welsh agriculture;

(2) what estimate has been made by his Department as to the additional persons who have been employed or are likely to be employed as a consequence of the announced greater prosperity of Welsh agriculture.

Mr. Peter Thomas

No precise estimates are possible. There is, however, every reason to believe that the present buoyant state of Welsh agriculture has maintained employment in the market towns and rural areas of Wales and will continue to do so.
