§ Mr. AlisonA programme of fundamental research was needed to improve the efficacy of vaccination against influenza and the view was taken that316W MRE Porton Down, which possesses the necessary experience in the research techniques involved and has excellent facilities, was the laboratory best placed to undertake a sustained programme in this particular field.
