§ Mrs. Doris Fisherasked the Secretary of State for Social Services, in view of the increasing number of elderly persons making greater demands on the attention of the public health services, if he will consider the formation of a working party to enable long-term planning to be formulated in this field.
§ Sir K. JosephThe long-term need for these services is under constant review. In addition local authorities will shortly be asked to submit their plans for the next 10 years for the development of personal social services including those for elderly people, and the needs of the elderly for health services are being taken into account in the planning and provision of the reorganised National Health Service.
