§ Mr. ChannonThe Finance (Northern Ireland) Order 1972 (S.I. 1972 No. 1100) was made on 26th July, 1972. A copy was laid before the House on 28th July in accordance with the procedure under paragraph 4(2) of the Schedule to the Northern Ireland (Temporary Provisions) Act 1972 for approval by resolution of each House of Parliament within forty days. As the urgent procedure was being used, no proposal for a draft of the Order was prepared. The tax changes of significance were outlined in Cmnd. 4998 ("Northern Ireland: Financial Arrangements and Legislation") presented to Parliament on 5th June, 1972.
