HC Deb 04 August 1972 vol 842 c218W
Mr. McNamara

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will call for a report from the chief constable as to what instructions have been given to the police for erecting barriers and marshalling lorries at the entrance to Dover docks during the present dock dispute.

Mr. Carlisle

The Chief Constable tells me that special arrangements have been made—not because of the present dock dispute—for the embarkation of heavy lorries at Dover in the summer months in order to avoid traffic congestion.
