§ Mr. AmeryBuilding preservation orders ceased to be effective on 1st January, 1969, when the present system of listed building control came into operation. Prosecutions for offences under the Town and Country Planning Act for carrying out unauthorised works to listed buildings are normally undertaken by local planning authorities.
