§ 8. Mr. Stratton Millsasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will undertake a survey of all the houses in Belfast which it has not been possible to sell being in troubled areas, where the building societies will not lend moneys because of the location of the premises, or where squatters have illegally moved into possession; if in conjunction with the Housing Executive he will prepare a scheme whereby such dwellings may be purchased or the building society loan guaranteed; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. ChannonI am aware of my hon. Friend's concern in this matter which he has raised on previous occasions. A working group of officials of Government Departments concerned and a representative of the Housing Executive has now been set up to explore the problem in depth.
