asked the Secretary of State for Employment (1) what was the total labour force employed in the ship repair industry in the United Kingdom to the most recent convenient date; and how these figures compare over the past five years;

(2) what was the total labour force employed in the shipbuilding industry in the United Kingdom to the most recent convenient date; and how these figures compare over the past five years.
