Mr. Kelleyasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he is aware that certain proposals have been put forward for the felling of trees subject to preservation orders in Edlington Wood; and if he will ensure that no such work is carried out until a report of the archaeological survey has been received.
§ Mr. Graham PageI understand that the local authority is discussing proposals for thinning with the owner of the wood. It would be for it to consider any application for consent to fell protected trees. It is already well aware that any proposal affecting an archaeological site would require very careful consideration.
