§ 26. Mr. Kinseyasked the Secretary of State for Employment what is the outcome of his consideration of the proposals for further training measures for young 59W people put forward to him by Birmingham Education Committee.
§ Mr. Chichester-ClarkWe have agreed a scheme with the Birmingham Education Committee for up to 100 young people to receive first-year apprentice training in engineering. The cost will be shared equally between the city and the Government. The scheme, which will be administered jointly with the Engineering Industry Training Board, will be in addition to any places allocated to Birmingham by the EITB under its own scheme.
