I am writing to the Confederation of British Industry and the Trades Union Congress to seek their views on a possible order under Section 9(2) of the Equal Pay Act, 1970, in the light of the Report's findings. In addition, I propose to take steps shortly to remind employers and unions of their obligations under the Act.
