asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he can now estimate the time needed to complete the necessary steps before the United Kingdom Government will ratify Convention 111 on Discrimination in Employment of the United Nations.

Not until we have had a chance to examine, among other things, the results of our study of difficulties encountered by women in securing equal treatment in employment and training which, as my hon. Friend informed the hon. Member for Newark (Mr. Bishop) on 6th June, will probably take about 18 months to complete —[Vol. 838, c. 54.]
