asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer (1) what was the yield from purchase tax on pet foods for the fiscal year ended April, 1971:

  1. (2) what was the yield from purchase tax on nuts for the fiscal year ended April, 1971.
  2. (3) what was the yield from purchase tax on potato crisps for the fiscal year ended April, 1971;
  3. (4) what was the yield from purchase tax on soft drinks for the fiscal year ended April, 1971;
  4. (5) what was the yield from purchase tax on ice cream for the fiscal year ended April, 1971.

Note:

1. The rate of tax in the year in question was 22 per cent.

2. There, is no breakdown of the receipts figure for potato crisps and salted nuts. but roughly three-quarters of these receipts are thought to relate to potato crisps.
