§ Mr. Meacherasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what plans he has made to ensure that the 200 permanent sites needed by the gipsy population are provided by local authorities in accordance with the second part of the Caravan Sites Act, 1968; and what steps he is taking to ensure that local authorities meet their responsibilities at an early date.
§ Mr. Graham PageLocal authorities will shortly be asked for a revised statement of their proposals for fulfilling their statutory duties. I will look at the whole position again in the light of the replies received.
