§ Mr. Eldon GriffithsMy right hon. Friend has proposed that road accident prevention should become a statutory obligation of the new county councils and the London authorities. Exemption from the county road safety rate has been withdrawn from 135 non-county boroughs and urban districts. The performance of other authorities with exemption will remain under review.
