§ Mr. Alfred Morrisasked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) what response his Department has had from interested bodies to his consultative letter in relation to amending the law so as to permit the drivers of police, fire brigade and ambulance vehicles to use their discretion to disregard traffic signs and signals; and if he will make a statement;
(2) if he is yet able to state his conclusions on amending the law in relation to red lights at traffic signals so as to exclude police, fire brigade and ambulance vehicles when employed in emergency calls, and to limit the application to these vehicles of the traffic signs to which Section 14 of the Road Traffic Act, 1960, applies.
