§ Mr. Pavittasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what research studies have been made on the use of high doses of sodium fluoride as a means of influencing favourably otosclerosis bone lesion and arresting deafness development from this cause.
§ Mr. AlisonI am not aware of the results of any studies using high doses of sodium fluoride in otosclerosis; but research work is in progress in the United States, and in at least one centre in England, to evaluate the effect of high doses of sodium fluoride in one particular form of otosclerosis, by means of a long-term controlled study.
