HC Deb 11 April 1972 vol 834 c165W
Mr. Charles Morrison

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how many applications for 40 per cent. grant were made under the Capital Grants Scheme prior to 18th March, 1972; and what is the total investment involved.

Mr. Anthony Stodart

Between 1st January, 1971, when the scheme came into operation, and 29th February, 1972, the latest date for which figures are available, 105,037 applications were received by my Department. It is not possible to distinguish between applications for the standard rate of grant and those for the special higher rates.

The investment involved is known only for applications which have been approved. By the end of February, 77,210 approvals had been issued covering work estimated to cost £96,658,000.
