§ 26. Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry to what extent, under the present rules and regulations of the European Economic Community, the British ball and roller bearing industry will be assisted or adversely affected on the free entry into Great Britain from the enlarged Community of such products, so far as import restriction and tariffs are concerned.
§ Mr. Anthony GrantFree entry into this country of ball and roller bearings from the enlarged Community will be accompanied by a removal of the tariffs against our exports to the Community. The effect of entry into the Community will depend on the extent to which managements in the industry take advantage of the wider market opportunities presented.
